- The Rugby World Cup 2011 event mark and trophy image should only be used alongside editorial content about RWC Ltd and/or the Tournament.
Any use of the Rugby World Cup 2011 event marks and/or trophy image for any commercial purposes is explicitly reserved for RWC Ltd and its commercial partners and licensees.No entities (other than those authorised by RWC Ltd) are permitted to use the Rugby World Cup 2011 event marks or trophy image for any commercial purposes including on, or in relation to, the sale, advertisement or promotion of, any goods or services. Please contact RWC Ltd in the event of any queries regarding usage in a commercial context.
Newspaper Front Page Use
- The Rugby World Cup 2011 event mark and trophy image should not be used on the front cover of any printed media item to imply the publication is official or linked to the Tournament. The event marks and trophy image may only be used on the front pages of newspapers and publications (and on the cover of titles of special event coverage) to illustrate the presence of editorial event coverage to facilitate reader orientation.
Magazine Front Page Use
- The Rugby World Cup 2011 event marks and trophy image may NOT be used on the cover of any regularly published magazine except where (i) approved in advance by RWC Ltd; or (ii) used by the publisher to indicate the presence of event coverage or special event-related sections within the magazine.
Website Use
- The Rugby World Cup 2011 event mark and trophy image may only be used on the home page of any website as a link button. The words “Rugby World Cup” are a trade mark of RWC Ltd and must not be used in any domain name or URL identification without prior written approval.
Webb Ellis Cup Image
- To ensure that the Webb Ellis Cup is represented correctly a photographic image of the Cup is provided for media use. The trophy should be referred to as “the Webb Ellis Cup”.
Non-Promotional / Advertising Use
- The Rugby World Cup 2011 event marks and trophy image cannot be used in any advertising or promotional manner by the media, including on products; in any competition, game, lottery, fantasy game or other type of contest; or in relation to any sponsored publications or programming of any kind. At no stage should the Rugby World Cup 2011 event mark and trophy image be used to imply any association between the media publication/website/broadcaster and the Tournament.
- The Rugby World Cup 2011 event mark and trophy image may not be used on any TV bar or frame to imply association between the Tournament and any other entity.
- The Rugby World Cup 2011 event mark and trophy image should not be combined with any other marks or designations to create a composite mark.
- The Rugby World Cup 2011 event mark and trophy image may never be used in the same visual plane as any other logo and/or trade mark or to imply any type of association.
Ongoing Information
- The Rugby World Cup 2011 mark represents the pinnacle of the Tournament and as such is vigorously protected. RWC Ltd wishes at all times to protect the integrity of the mark and therefore requests its valued media partners apply it according to these simple Guidelines.
